PokerStars is like a classy restaraunt. It doesn't need you, heck it doesn't even like you. No huge affiliate program, no massive bonus, no crazy VIP host. It's simply PokerStars.
But, theres a good reason for all this. PokerStars has a solid reputation for being reliable, good software and a great alternative to PartyPoker. In addition to being a good alternative - its made (2) WSOP champions. Both Raymer and Moneymaker started out here. So what does that tell us? It must have some sort of incredible luck drawn to it!
MY single complaint with their software is that its too slow. Now, I understand that when most people download gambling software for their first time its a lot to take in. But -- come on!
To their defense, there are special rooms that have "quick" games. However, some people might consider these games a little too fast paced.
For the most part tournaments are pretty live. They best ones are the bigger ones, nothing too great about the SnG's.
Overall Pokerstars is worth playing on. It was the first place I actually profited from online and truely made me believe in online poker.
IF anything play on PokerStars because it saves you from Spam of all their dirty affiliates (like me).

Hands down the most popular Poker Room on the internet. But as we all know, the biggest does not mean the best. No other room proves this than PartyPoker. However, this doesn't mean this review is going to bash PartyPoker because - no matter what way you look at it. PartyPoker is simply the best.
PartyPoker offers the most variety of gameplay and by far the most amount of players. Gameplay here is fast-paced and a good mix of the skill of the players.
For a moderate to very good poker player it should be fairly easy to be successful at PartyPoker.
The only truly negative nitpick about PartyPoker is that its software and GUI could use some tweaking. However, its servers are extremely solid and have an excellent track record for stable running time. The traditional complaint from pro's on partypoker is that the bonuses suck. Your
initial 20% and the occasional (but dependable once a month) reload is a crappy incentive to play compared to what some rooms offer. However, what partypoker lacks in bonuses it makes up for in play.

Bodog offers simply the best bonuses out of any new "legit" card room. 10%

Pokerroom has the typical juicy 20% initial deposit bonus. However, the gameplay is a little slow and typically has the same problem as other rooms (paradise / pokerstars) the games move really slow. If your a senior citizen or a very patient person, this might be the room for you.
But, hey who are we to judge. You should think about your decisions. Pokerroom has some excellent software, great support and a few extra goodies that you cannot be without. Such as, their mobile poker trainer (see 3rd Party Programs). As well they are the only current poker room to offer MAC and Linux support.
Pokerroom has been around since 1999 and offers the lowest minimum deposit out of every poker room. For some reason they continue to offer Chinese Poker where you can play against 16 other players (lol). If you get a chance check it out, its good for a laugh or two.
A lot of people enjoy their lite version built in Java so you can play poker while your at work or school without leaving those naughty traces.

PacificPoker offers one of the best instant bonuses out of all poker rooms (25%, no raked hands required). And, they offer their affiliates boatloads of money to bring players to them. Does this mean they are the best room around? Doubt it, does it mean they attract more fish than Lake Michigan - you bet! But, like Lake Michigan some of the players produce results you won't like.
Pacific Poker by itself isn't all that bad. Their client is horrible and
desperately needs a touch-up. They advertise "the latest technology", however, it is anything but the latest technology. Pac Poker is worth a try-out, especially for the $20 min. deposit required.
We've had a lot of reports of people turning a small deposit like $20 at PacPoker to $200 within a day or two. This is the "magic" of PacificPoker! If you have an extra twenty laying around and want to play poker, this is by far your best shot.
In addition to the instant Bonus, PacificPoker offers points that add up super quick and when you finally think your out of money. Next thing you know they deposit your bonus points into your account!
Overall, you would be a fool to pass up Pacific Poker. It's worth a glance and if it works out for you
that's great - but, don't be shocked when you lose that $20 investment.

UltimateBet is just one of those places. Software is by far
the best in the industry. Bonuses have reached new
highs and there are a great amount of FreeRolls. This is the place for
action. H
With a lot of players trying out new sites all the time
people tend to come back to Ultimate Bet for their software
and game play.
The stakes vary from very low micro limit games to high
stakes no limit. The tournament traffic is very strong
as well. You'll find plenty of daily buy-ins.
Competition can be a little bit tougher than Party Poker,
especially at the higher limit tables.
