Runner runner...

Is it just me or does it hurt worse to lose when someone catches the two perfect cards they need on the turn and river to make their hand. Even if its not a huge pot, I just hate seeing someone catch two connecting cards, two suited cards, or catch trips with runner runner. The other night I was playing in a soft $1/$2 game. I raised from under the gun with JJ and five people ended up seeing the flop. Flop brings me another jack for a set but three hearts as well. With this many people in, chances are someone either has a flush or a big flush draw.
The small blind opened with a bet (on a steal I figured) and I raised to confront the feild with a double bet and hopefully pick up the pot right there. Fortunately for me, no one else seemed to have any hearts or my raised priced them out of drawing. The small blind just called and I bet out on the turn when a 7 hit. River brings another 7 giving me a full house. This time when I bet, he raises. I figure he could have had something like a A7 so maybe he is betting what he thinks is the best hand. I reraised since I had the big full house. The only hand that beats me turns out to be the hand he is holding, pocket 7s. Running 7s to make quads, some guys have all the luck.

When that happens, just say to yourself, "I hope you keep on calling like that and I get to play with you in the future." That is the type of player that will pay you off more times than he will bad beat you.

That's the biggest bad beat one could ever have. Hopefully you didn't lose too much on that. I flopped a house with 77 with a 2 7 2 flop and someone else rivered his 9, giving him house 9s over 2s. That was the last time I played at Poker Pacific.

Ouch, thats happened to me before, just not runner runner, he flopped quad 4s against my full house, 3 aces, 2 4s. I was left with an empty feelin in my stomach for a long time after that one, even deciding that internet poker was rigged. But in two days I was winning again and feelin pretty happy. I hate people who call with nothin and then get rewarded. Tough luck.

I flopped top two pair, Kings and Jacks, with a 5 on the board, he called my bets and eventually went all in, catching running 5's for quads vs my fullhouse, sometimes the card gods just hate you
