Where should I purchase a chip set?
Ebay would be my first choice, but there are way too many choices and it is hard to find a good shipping deal.
All I'm looking for are the cheap 11.5 plastic ones. I do not want to spend more then 50$ all together. Let me know!

There are multiple sets that end on ebay for $1.00 or less with $40.00 shipping, not much bidding war on something like this. You usally have a choice of a few sets as well. I picked up this set:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...166582945&rd=1 about 3 months ago on ebay for $43 shipped. Mine came with an aluminum case though. I just stayed up until like 3am when there wasn't many bidders online.

it hasnt been used much since everyone in my group has a set, we hardly ever play at my place, so its never used.... its 500 11.5gram Royal Suited chips.... but yes, ebay is the place to go if you're looking for new ones...they are cheap these days....

Interesting information. I have been pondering the merits of buying a chip set as well, but I've promised myself that I would find a new job first.

Thanks everyone. I was in a hurry so I just bought those chips on Overstock.com. I wish I had realized the .01 ebay chips because there are much better deals there. I saw one with only 25$ shipping for a 500 11.5 chipset total price would have been 25.01. Oh well, the chips were for a friend.

Better yet, write a 500+ word poker article and submit it to Poker Source Online by the end of the month and they'll give you a chip set.

My local walmart had some on clearance about a week ago. I can't remember the exact details, but you might check your local store.
