Anyone watching this? I caught the first elimination round the other night. Fox definitely made a lot of changes to the format this time around. I like it a little better though. Its great to see ten of the best all seated together but I also like the idea of having to earn a spot into the big game. The time limit rule is a big difference too from just about any tournament I've seen. I can understand the reasoning since Fox shows every hand, it is in their interest to keep the game moving quickly so the shows dont run long. Johnny Chan should have won the first run. What a lousy run of cards heads up there on the end.

They just aired the last match of round one on FSN this week. Talk about a tough table, Tood Brunson, Doyle Brunson, Scotty Nyugen, Ted Forest, Mike Caro, and another great player whose name escapes me right now. This was the toughest table I've seen yet. I'm really starting to like this format now too. It would be great if some of the online sites had something like this availible for average joes to compete in.

On problem with SSI is the fact that its 3 hands and then a commerical and we only get to watch the hands that really matter. Blinds go up pretty fast so it means if you got an ace, you got to push it all in.

So far in my area they've now aired have of the preliminary matches. A lot of luck is involved in doing well with the fast blind format. There are some really great players who have done bad in their first three matches who really haven't made any mistakes. One bad beat or lucky draw out can really make the diffence in this event between first and worst.

I'm dissapointed that FSN is no longer showing all the hands like they have done in previous tournaments. That was one of the things that I liked about them compared to ESPN.
