Fellow Poker Lovers....

I'm turning to you - where and how can we get more members? This forum has excellent potential and VERY powerful software behind it. So I pose a question to you, where and how can we get more members?

Thank You,

Hmm, I definitely think that having the contest brings in people that might not otherwise check it out. Where else can you advertise besides the newsgroup? That might be what I would focus on. I am not really familiar with poker sites on the internet, but that is what I would try, getting my ads out there where people that would be interested in this site would be likely to go. I have no idea how much such ads cost, but what about buying say google coverage? I guess it depends on how much you want to spend on advertising...

I agree that this site does have a lot to offer. I try to mention it to people I play with or chat with in other forums. Maybe you could do some more link exchanges with other forums or affiliates?

I think ultimately it will come down to word of mouth. So to everyone here, if you like tips4poker, tell a friend and help keep the site going and growing.

Starting some interesting conversations helps. I haven't read anything on here that's amazingly interesting yet.

Maybe if you got some of the major players to post a few tips on here, that would help?

Some great ideas! Ya, interesting conversation is definately key to keeping the conversation rocking.

Any idea where we get some pro's to chat with us? :)

You could always host a freeroll tournament on one of the bigger poker sites. Everyone that plays at the site will come here for the password. :)

A lot of them hang out at RGP. I'm not sure how you would incentivise them, though.

An easy way to start might be to get someone interesting to agree to answer five questions. Then have a thread where people try to come up with five interesting questions. Pick the best five questions and put them to the pro, then put their answers up on the forum.

Definately more private freeroll tournaments with the post requirements. Also, setting up a bounty on certain players at the tournaments would entice more people to the forum make for better competition. :D

i recommend getting more of the freerolls. I am a new member to the site and have found you guys because of the freeroll that you are going to hold on Noble, I mean who doesn't love free money?

A bounty would be a great idea if you made the freerolls into a weekly or biweekly thing, as you could always just put a bounty on the defending champ from the previous week. This would encourage people to actively check out the results from the previous week and get more into the freerolls.

A leader board would also help to give incentive, maybe a prize every month?

EG the real I can get alot of new members here if you would like, my forum texasholdemforum has over 4,000 members and Im sure IF you offer some kind off freeroll some time next week or next month I can advertise it on my forum for you.

Itll bring in alot of members.

Just PM me IF you want to do something like this!

Holding freerolls at multiple sites gets you noticed. The players want to get into the freeroll and in turn check out your site. Holding contests like you have on currently works great too.

private freerolls for sure that really attracts members, i saw one forum grow from 11 members to over 600 in 3 months and is doing very well now.
maybe add league games, people enjoy competition and seeing results like a tourney leaderboard..

A Tourney Leaderboard would be pretty sweet. Freerolls get members here but what we need is a consistent community. Ya know, something that keeps people coming back.

This is a great board and there's a lot going for it, but I feel we need something to kick start the momentum that will turn this board into a well known forum.

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I just noticed this while reading the FullContactPoker forums. It's a freeroll tournament at RoyalVegasPoker.com where you represent your favorite poker forum. Apparently, the winning forums win freeroll tourneys for their members in addition to the cash prizes individual participants can win. I know we're a small forum, but it could be fun and generate some interest.

The current tournament's registration is closed, but there should be another one coming up. Details are at:

Ya thats a great idea we are a pretty tight knit board we could potentially rock something like that.

We plan to have some great freerolls and events coming soon. The numbers have been increasing lately, but we need some more interaction. The weekly or bi-weekly freeroll will then have it's own Tips4poker leaderboard. After so many events the top 3 will then be placed in other tournaments covered by Tips4poker, assuming we get enough players playing. Keep the posts coming and the freerolls and events will follow. If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know.

I don't have any specific suggestions, but let me know if I can help somehow. I really like the forum although I don't really know many of the people, yet it seems like a good place/forum. I'll tell a few people about this forum that I know, who are really into Poker.

Thanks for the support Steve. I always like to tell people the effort you put into this board you usually get 10 fold out from it. Meaning that just a little participation can lead to you getting large rewards (in terms of knowledge, and sometimes even in prizes ;) ) Anyhow, welcome aboard!

Thanks for the great welcome. I'll try to contribute whatever knowledge (although it is relatively limited so far) I can about poker or personal experiences I've had in poker through the forum. Anyways, thanks again.

Welcome Earthslash.

Tips4poker for the most part seems to be growing steadily. We seem to be gaining new posters each week and I am sure there are more who just read but haven't decided to post or register yet.

The contests were good ways of building interest in the past. I'd also like to see more tips4poker tournaments on NP or another site.

Hey egthareal I sugest more free rolls, as people always want something for free. And you can do something like put up a link to your Banned so people can post it on their Myspace account or whatever site they want.
Also do you know why you can never see links to other sites here? I'm new here and like it here but I hate that I can't click on a link to get usefull information. Thats why most of us come to the fourms, to learn, talk, try to improve our poker game.
